Role overview

We have ambitious plans for 2024 and are looking for a German speaking Business Development Associate to join our team in London as part of our Sales function, immediately.

If you are based in the UK and have a sales background you want to build on, this role will suit you perfectly. We offer a dedicated training program, and we are looking for candidates who are passionate about the industries we operate in. Nurturing, developing and training our sales teams is what makes us successful, with the support of our outstanding Sales Leaders.

You will be a dynamic, motivated and strategic Business Development Associate who will be focused on building our sales pipeline within the EMEA market. You will not be phased by prospecting new clients and cold calling using your expertise to help clients understand the value WGSN brings to their business.

You will be a key member of our fast-growing, high-performing sales team and will be hands-on in building personal relationships and making sure our prospective customers are successful.

Prospecting new clients is key at this stage of the process and you can achieve this by ensuring thorough research is completed in advance. The team

At WGSN we have high performing sales teams made up of Client Services Coordinators, Business Development Associates, Key Account Managers and Senior Account Managers, who have worked incredibly hard over the past year to achieve outstanding results.

From Start-Ups to Fortune 500 companies; WGSN supplies specialised intelligence to the most valuable brands in Fashion, Beauty, Food & Drink, Interiors and Consumer Tech, allowing these brands to produce outstanding products that consumers will demand for years to come.

 

Key accountabilities

  • Effectively manage our inbound lead queue, being the first point of contact for prospective clients and feeling confident to reach out by phone
  • Research and identify potential clients for WGSN; develop and execute strategies for outbound prospecting via email, cold calling, LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • Qualify inbound leads for the sales team, generating pipeline of potential new customers for WGSN
  • Use lead generation tools to routinely extract contacts and a targeted list of prospects across Fashion, Beauty, Interiors and Food & Drink and Consumer Tech
  • Ensuring that once meetings are booked, relevant research and information is translated to the senior sales team so that they are set up for success in their meetings
  • Learn and maintain extensive knowledge of market/industry trends, developments, WGSN customers, competitors, and products; building expertise towards being able to tell the WGSN story while pitching WGSN value
  • Working closely with the marketing team on lead generation and new business activities, including but not limited to events, email campaigns, social media

Skills, experience & qualifications required

  • Fluency in English and German
  • B2B sales experience would be useful
  • Collaborative mentality and a team player
  • Results-driven, resilient and a competitive nature
  • Excellent writing, communication, and listening skills
  • Great time management skills
  • Proven ability to make strong connections and overcome rejection to achieve results. We provide you with training, do not fear.
  • Knowledge of our core industries: Fashion, Beauty, Interiors, Food and Drink, Consumer Tech
  • Previous experience with sales enablement tools such as SalesLoft, Salesforce would be an advantage
