WGSN and Coloro reveal their Colour of the Year for 2028, a defining shade set to shape cross-industry colour direction for 2028 and beyond.

London, March 19, 2026 – WGSN, the world’s leading consumer trend forecaster, and Coloro, the leader in colour excellence, present the 2028 Colour of the Year.

WGSN x Coloro —  Powered by the precision of the Coloro system, WGSN combines advanced methodology with industry expertise to forecast the future of colour with a 94% accuracy rate.

In 2028, we will enter a period defined by inspired resilience and flourishing, as consumers create intimate environments that prioritise thriving over survival.

Against a backdrop of prolonged global disruption, the 2028 Colour of the Year emerges as a pivotal hue, encouraging a decisive shift away from fleeting emotions toward enduring stability. In doing so, it offers reassurance and paves a resolute path forward.

Colour of the Year 2028

Radiant Earth — Coloro code: 017–42–31

With an inherent earthiness and sophistication, Radiant Earth acts as a new, reliable yet assertive neutral. Although this hue effortlessly complements natural materials like ceramics and organic textiles, its versatility extends to an engineered aesthetic, instilling warmth in machined surfaces with sleek finishes.

Drawing on the concept of afterglow, Radiant Earth can be positioned as a source of inspiration for healing and quiet power, offering sauna-like restoration within an unpredictable consumer landscape.

Stephanie Barnscher (she/her), Senior Colour Forecaster at WGSN, said: “In a world that often feels chaotic, we're seeing a shift toward emotions like resilience and flourishing. Radiant Earth perfectly anchors this emotional mindset, offering a grounded, reliable neutral that fosters deep-seated trust. For brands, this colour helps to create products and environments that feel both reassuringly nostalgic and confidently future-ready.

For 2028, the demand is for colours with a grounding, permanent feel, moving beyond fleeting trends. Our Colour of the Year, Radiant Earth, offers a steady, lingering glow rather than a high-energy 'pop'. It's a shade that promotes a sense of real, lasting stability and is highly versatile. It is equally effective at providing soft, matte, high-gloss, and iridescent finishes for everyday items, as well as lending organic warmth to high-tech or machined materials.”

Thorsten Traugott (he/him), Vice President of Global Sales at Coloro, said: “Coloro’s physical and digital tools are fully integrated into the WGSN forecasting process, so we’re excited for the Colour of the Year 2028. It translates confidently across textiles and contrasting material finishes, reinforcing its versatility across product categories. We look forward to helping brands bring the Colour of the Year 2028 to life with precision.”
