2. Backstage: Burberry
In a sharp contrast to the serene and precise runway presentation of the Burberry Prorsum S/S 10 show, backstage was a bustle and flurry of assistants prepping models and adding last-minute touches before the walk down the runway. We loved the transformation of the iconic trench with soft, refined details, ruching and knotting. These coats and coatdresses looked playful, and more fun than ever to wear. Being backstage means getting a closer look at the intricate details on each garment. Another favorite was the sequin-encrusted dresses and twisted silk fabrics that were paired and contrasted with softer, organic shapes.

Spring is right around the corner – get your fill of sweet pastels and vintage-inspired prints and patterns with this new Design Capsule for girls. The report covers everything from antiqued storybook creatures and delicate floral adornments to casual sequins and metallics transformed into day wear. We love the iconic Coco Chanel style that has seemingly transformed into childrenswear. With everything from boxy, knit jackets to ballet flats and pearls, these classic looks channel the designer’s timeless style reflected on a chic Parisian school girl.

4. Active Forecast:
Evolution – Womens
The latest in our forecast for the active market – this F/W 11 forecast report for women focuses on activewear through the lens of snowboarding and dance. Discover the colors, materials, textures and design developments inspired by the theme Evolution. We love the materials and textures reflected in the dance arena. Metallic gold knits and sequins paired with organic shapes and exposed wire trims provide contrast and accent to these body-conscious designs.

5. Men’s Runway Wrap: Themes
Straight off the runways of Europe, from rugged workwear to techno-tailoring, discover the major themes of the men’s F/W 10 runways. The looks of the season reflected a return to “normalcy,” moving away from the edgy themes of last fall. These hard styles were replaced with softer, more wearable designs. “Formal Informal” is one of our favorite themes. With a youthful approach to formalwear, these looks move seamlessly from day to night.
