Zac Posen, always a showman, brought a sense of humor and a barrage of refreshing sherbets and vivid brights to his current collection. Colorblocked shifts, clear plastic jackets worn over geo-printed minis and kitschy brooches all hinted at influences from the Mod 60s. While not completely abandoning his signature skin-tight pencil dresses with elaborate seams, Posen also included a stunning floor-length knit dress with fringe cascading down its sleeves, and a pair of fuschia wide-leg trousers with pleats at the hip, indicating a new direction in his work. Many versions of off-the shoulder tops hit the mark. Painterly prints by rising star artist Rosson Crow injected some downtown cool, while puffs of marabou kept it glamorous.
