At the forefront of avant-garde menswear for New York, Atelier has released images of its second exclusive capsule collection with Yves Saint Laurent. Obvious success from the first project (from F/W 10) has resulted in a similar aesthetic for this season — one that is prone to long proportions, cinched waists and uniformed blacks with a slight Gothic edge. Consisting of short jackets with double breasted closures, cashmere jumpsuits, capes in nylon and silk, volumous high-waisted trousers and dropped-crotch pants, the clothes have the decidedly moody, broody aesthetic that Atelier customers have come to expect. With fabrics switching between fine cashmere, wool, and nylon/silk blends, it isn’t even necessary to denote a season to these classic shapes and textures.
The collection has arrived in time for a pre-fall delivery at Atelier’s store on Hudson Street as well as its online shop.
