Paris: Another New York designer to move his show to Paris this season, Yigal Azrouel brought a compact collection that showcased his signature sophisticated-slouchy aesthetic. Although slubby knits, woven hoodies and dropped-crotch tapered sweatpants epitomized laid-back nonchalance, the well-styled multi-layered ensembles felt very complete and polished. Voluminous layers of sleeveless outerwear and chunky sweaters were tamed by skinny waist belts, and collars were completely buttoned and accented with tattered neckties. Knit headwear and relaxed bottoms looked urban and effortlessly cool, while artisanal cable knit sweaters and shawl-neck collars softened the vibe. Grunge elements, like a medium-wash denim shirt and plaid flannel pants, were littered throughout.
