With members spanning across the world, The Trp chooses to remain anonymous so fans can focus on the sounds and ideas behind their music, encompassing a mix between garage, exotic hip hop, and a post minimal electro sound. The incognito group teams up with Brooklyn-based artist Michael Tousana for a collaborative album inspired by space, nature, and spirituality titled YAHUDA that takes you through a conceptual journey of emotions.
Recently featured on Oyster Mag, The Trp and Tousana give an exclusive interview about the forthcoming project, set to release later this month. They talk about the emotions and feelings that evolve throughout the journey of creating the album, and get into detail about the sentiments behind specific songs. With a mission to make a soundtrack for our generation, the album hopes to communicate their belief of a more enlightened, open, and connected world that has been made possible through the influence of the internet.
With an accompanying video, ‘Leon de Yahuda’ is the first single released from the album, where you can see the seamless fusion of Tousana’s gritty style with The Trp’s smoother sound. The video keeps a minimal concept, with a black and white, lo-fi look.
