Stylesight was invited to a special Woolrich event at Bloomingdale’s last night, featuring an exhibition of famed photographer, Douglas Kirkland’s, work. Co-sponsored by DETAILS magazine, the legendary brand chose to celebrate their 180th birthday by commissioning the photographer to shoot portraits of 18 creative personalities wearing the iconic Woolrich Arctic Parka. Some of the celebrities included artist Erika Lemay, musician G-Mac Brown, actors Brendan Fraser and Gabriel Garko, and model Aimee Mullins. For each portrait, he chose to shoot both with a modern digital camera in color, as well as a vintage black-and-white camera — perhaps hinting at the timelessness of the comapny’s designs. Kirkland explained, “Woolrich is for everyone, young and old. The portraits show that Woolrich is not just from yesterday and for older generations. It’s for young people of today as well.”
