Rizzoli recently published a tome of born-and-bred New Yorker Jerry Schatzberg’s mid-century fashion photography, entitled “Women Then: Photographs 1954-1969.” While the book includes photos of famous actresses [including Faye Dunaway, Schatzberg’s one-time fiancé] and fashion editorial work shot for magazines like Vogue and Esquire, it also includes whimsical pre-sartorialist shots of unknown women around New York City. Schatzberg went on to direct several feature films and is currently working on film-related projects at the wise old age of 83.
