So, if you are like us (obsessed with snowboarding) you were either in Aspen last night (hi Jess!), or you were glued to your TV (me) for the Mens SuperPipe final. Obviously, Shaun White KILLED it, with his four-peat gold medal win, but his competition was fierce, forcing him to really step up his game (we wont even talk about the Slopestyle event).
What is unusual is that Shaun was actually in 2nd place after his first run…and Scotty Lago was in first (fun fact: Lago was riding with a broken jaw, which happened in the back county while filming Travis Rice’s new film with Brain Farm called “The Art of Flight”). It wasn’t until Shaun threw down his “White Snake” trick in the second run, that his gold medal position was pretty much confirmed. In the end Scotty Lago took home silver and Louie Vito took bronze (his first medal ever at Winter X). What was really cool to us, is that everyone on the podium, was also on the US Olympic Snowboard Team from 2010. Thats pretty sweet.

FYI-> We were also cheering for Kazu and Peetu, and were really impressed with Kazu’s final run, even though the judges didn’t feel the same…
Now, on to the more controversial part of this blog post…Shaun White’s kit. Head-to-toe black, with a “leather” jacket and skinny, bootcut pants. EVERYONE was talking about it, equal parts hating and equal parts in awe. Here are some details that we found out during X: Shauns outfit was the from The White Collection that he designed. The DIY patch, that he sewed on himself, is from his 2010 Olympic uniform. The pants are actually from The White Collection for Women. He wanted to replicate what he basically wears everyday: tight black jeans and a leather jacket. He said that he tried rocking baggy pants with the leather jacket and it just didn’t look right, so he took a chance to see how the tighter shape looked on him. Obvs it worked and is super rad!
Also, not to toot our own horn or anything, but it looks a lot like theme from our F11 Active forecast called Evolution…what do you think about that?!
