The Australian label Willow has a reputation for creating bohemian looks in materials that are sourced from around the world. For S/S 10, new innovative tactile surfaces like beaded rope and “reptilian skin” made out of buttons was used for a collection of body-conscious dresses and whimsical tops. Tiny gunmetal beads were strung into heavy strands that were then used for looped necklaces and for contoured outlines on printed dresses, bringing a tough yet refined edge to soft jersey. Buttons of multiple sizes and varying shades of ivory and gold were worked together into a iridescent collage. Luminescent leather was used for new shapes on fold-over tops and cropped pleat-front pants — both with petal hemlines.
