In 2017, girl power is stronger than ever. Feminism is no longer a dirty word and #WomensMarch was the biggest demonstration in US history.
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, there is another unofficial holiday happening on February 13th that celebrates all things about female friendships and women empowerment (and we’re super excited for it).
What is Galentine’s Day?
With mottos such as ‘girl power’, ‘fries before guys’ and ‘ovaries before brovaries’, Galentine’s Day was born in 2010 by the iconic Leslie Knope (from TV show Parks and Recreation) and is a growing trend.
Is the day to leave your S.O. at home and get together with your best friends to value each others’ time the most. It’s not an anti-Valentine’s day holiday (you can celebrate both!) but the focus here is on your ultimate support system: your good friends. So just take this day with your girl gang to build each other up and appreciate how you all slay.
