Ever since it was announced on March 1st that Christian Dior had fired John Galliano, buzz regarding who will succeed him has been increasing. Antsy with anticipation, the fashion world has begun to speculate. While Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy and Belgian designer Haider Ackermann seem to be the frontrunners, other contenders mentioned have included Yves Saint Laurent’s Stefano Pilati, Hedi Slimane, and Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte. Additionally, while it’s unlikely that industry heavyweights Marc Jacobs, Phoebe Philo, Alber Elbaz or Tom Ford will abandon their current posts, they’ve come up as well.
