This month our global team has curated a holiday season wish list made by them, inspired by what they are working on now, and forecasting for the future
It’s day eight of our Advent calendar; a calendar like no other. It is the perfect way for WGSN Insider readers to meet the team members in our global offices, find out more about what they are working on and why they are coveting certain items.
Each day for the next 17 days, we’ll be spotlighting a member of the team and their seasonal picks, enjoy!
Holiday Wish List: Day Eight
WGSN Staffer: Andrea Bell, Think Tank Director
The month of January marks the beginning of trade show season and catwalks for WGSN staffers but before visions of champagne after parties dance in your head, the reality is sore feet, and copious amounts of caffeine/take-out food #livingthedream. It’s long days, but we wouldn’t have it any other way, getting to be at the forefront of what’s happening in fashion and design. Here are my must-have items that will power me through:
Chapter Hugo Bag
Part backpack, part tote bag, this sleek leather bag is functional (roomy enough for essentials including a water bottle, notebooks and a pair of heels should a must-attend event hit my inbox) and fashionable –the classic design goes with any outfit.
Rag and Bone Meli-Brogue
From navigating the tradeshow halls (see you soon, CES!) to racing through the airport, stylish and comfortable shoes are a MUST. These bad boys look great dressed down with jeans and smart when paired with a power suit. In a dancing mood? Pair these brogues with tights and prepare to Snapchat your signature moves.
Triple C Power Card Charger
Hell hath no fury like a dying phone while conducting industry interviews or updating the WGSN Instagram (@wgsn). This mobile charger is compact, easy-to-use and is a great example of high fashion meets high-tech design. Added bonus? This gadget alleviates the dreaded outlet hunt at airports and the convention halls.
Polaroid SX 70 Camera
Call me a Luddite but in a smartphone, overly filtered world, I miss the days of printed photographs. While I don’t have the budget to install a home darkroom, this camera satisfies my need for physical images and captures my work adventures sans filters. Plus, the camera is a hit at dinner parties – just make sure to enforce the no duckface rule.
