With fashion week upon us, the world’s eyes are all looking at the runways. Who will shock us? Who will surprise us? What looks will ultimately define S/S 15?

At WGSN, we’ll all be glued to our seats to see what’s next from New York, London, Paris and Milan. But we won’t just be looking to the runways, as trend forecasters, we’ll be turning to everything that’s around us. What are people wearing on the street? What’s trending on social media? What unexpected details are catching everyone’s attention? Slowly but surely, common denominators will emerge.

A shade of citrus from this morning’s catwalks might catch your eye on a piece of graffiti on the way home. The city skyline on your morning run may remind you of last night’s minimalist silhouettes.

Inspiration can come from anywhere, and this season, we’re inviting our followers on Google+, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to give it a try. When you spot a runway trend in an unexpected place that matches one of the four themes we’ve highlighted for the season – Sweet + Feminine, History 2.0, Focus or Cruise Cool (as below) – simply snap a picture of it and post it on social using @wgsn and #trendingbywgsn. The four best entrants will receive a six-month subscription to WGSN.
