Mixing relaxed with tailored pieces, Travota’s menswear collection for S/S 09 offers a variation on Ivy League hits the road. It’s a maturing viewpoint from designer John Whitledge, whose still dipping into the academic wing of tailored sportswear. And he still has that laid back, SoCal style that’s quirky rather than smug. With a palette of navy blues, tobacco, grey, white and mauve, Travota keeps it simple and palatable with slim and somewhat prim treatments for a series of button downs, slacks, shorts and blazers accessorized with old-school canvas sneakers.
