Wearable Works Of Art

A veritable who’s who of fashion, art and New York society came out this week for the the Museum of Art and Design’s PAPERBALL, a benefit auction, exhibition, party and dinner celebrating all things paper. The museum commissioned notable names in fashion, such as Issey Miyake, Robert Geller, Chris Benz, Ruffian, Kenzo Minami, Bliss Lau, and Maria Pinto, to create one-of-a-kind sartorial creations to kick off their exhibit, Slash: Under the Knife, which runs through April 4, 2010. From Jen Kao’s faux leather interpretation to Matthew Williamson’s colorful cutwork puppeteer dress, the exhibit showcased the creative mind’s amazing ability to transcend the blank page to create wearable works of art.
