British publishing house, Phaidon has just unveiled a gastronomic app to accompany the highly successful book, Where Chefs Eat.

The Where Chefs Eat app lists over 400 of the worlds top chefs’ recommendations of their favorite places to eat, from eccentric chef Heston Blumenthal to David Chang, founder of momofuko. With culinary hotspots from around the world, the 2,000+ recommendations include local dishes such as roast duck in Beijing and hot dogs in New York.

The app enables users to browse by chef, location and restaurant, while an interactive map offers price, location and cuisine filters to further narrow down their choices.

The original cookbook was edited by food journalist and critic Joe Warwick and contains quotes from the chefs, beautiful typography and handy maps – it seems only right to bring these maps to life in this new interactive app.

A must have for the culinary traveler; the app is available to download through iTunes. Read our Food Flavors report for more culinary inspiration. – Babette Radclyffe-Thomas
