New contemporary illustrators’ and artists’ work can be great inspiration for color, styling and print direction. Stylesight’s Graphics team recently stumbled across the beautifully dreamy works of Betsy Walton, a contemporary folk artist from Portland, Oregon.
Working on a mixture of personal and gallery projects, Betsy Walton’s artworks explore and are inspired by human nature, American folk, geometric patterns and Byzantine iconic paintings. Walton’s artworks incorporate her beautiful, dreamy use of color with abstract studies and intricate pattern work. In Walton’s latest work she draws inspiration and visual direction form microscopic imagery, mid-century pattern and botanical references.
