PARIS…A.F. Vandevorst attendees got their 5 seconds of fame at the Musee de Metallos on Sunday night in the 11th arrondissement. Upon entering the venue cameras kept a watchful eye on those making way to their seats, the models backstage, even the runway itself, recording everyone’s every move, with 14 video screens projecting images of various sizes from within the show. The soundtrack featured a Sonic Youth’s Carpenters cover, some operatic overtures, and a Bowie rendition, a slow and successful trance. The models walked the runway with ink-spattered eyes, wearing iconic white and black button-downs that the husband and wife team is known for, super slim capes with the AF insignia in plain sight, and protective puffy parkas, with puffy mittens to match. The palette was a varied mix of everything from bright red to more sedate tones of grey and black, but topped off with shiny silver shoes, or two-toned striped tights. The real winners of the show wear the chunky Fair Isle cardigans, cinched at the waist and ready-to-wear.
