PARIS…Vivienne Westwood’s Paris collection is definitely more conceptual than her commercial London offering, but even so, the Paris looks for S/S 09 contained some key ideas for the juniors market. With the continuous trickle down effect of Westwood’s classic shapes and signatures, her own show provided an amalgamation of these looks, touching on mixed ethnic influences, shine and asymmetry. Bright colors will please this market, as well as bold stripes, loose shorts and message t-shirts. Embellished dhoti pants were a standout, taking fashion’s favorite new silhouette and dressing it up for evening with sinuous sequin shapes. Consider incorporating bits of Westwood’s unique vision during the new few seasons.
