Olivier Saillard, a set designer, curator, archivist, and visual merchandising designer extraordinaire, recently created an instillation regarding vintage store displays at Galeries Lafayette in Paris. Saillard explored Stockman’s to pull the exhibition together: a famous 100-yr-old business that specializes in shop furnishings and accessories. He took pieces from their archive and also commissioned identical reproductions of some structures that Stockman’s produced in the 1920’s & 30’s. The final product is mix of antique store display apparatuses, vintage hats, vintage hat lighting and some new designer garments and accessories. The show is called “Au delà du Vêtement,” and runs through the 15th August.
