As global fashion weeks have become an ever-important breeding ground for the dissemination of viral trends, the same events have witnessed a rise in vintage-inspired dress that was most notable on S/S 2014 streets.  ’50s frocks and full, gathered skirts have reclaimed their place of prominence in women’s wardrobes, as has a trend for ’60s mini-shifts and ’60s-does-’20s drop-waisted styles.  The ongoing fascination with the match set continues on both runways and streets; ’70s tunic sets and quirky jumpsuits à la Twiggy resurfaced as well.  A nice, timeless counterpoint to the fast-fashion copies and head-to-toe label wearers preening for the cameras.  More to come, but here is an initial selection of our favorites.
