Vintage Finds: Interesting Outerwear

It’s only September and it’s damn near 80 degrees outside, but that doesn’t seem to keep my mind from dreaming about winter coats! At Goodwill this weekend I longingly pawed through the racks, searching for that one warm, low-priced gem that would take me through the winter snows of the Northeast. My eye kept being drawn to printed, slightly off-kilter coats instead of my usual navy wool peacoat fixation, and so today I caved in and checked out Stylesight’s Vintage category for some outerwear inspiration.

It looks all boring and stolid, just a grey coat and then bam! You notice it’s covered in triangles!

Doesn’t it look like this bad larry has eyes???

I’m in love with the curved row of buttons on this nubby number.

Remember that time when ponchos were all the rage? This one from the ’70s never went out of style.

I know fur is evil and all, but this coat has TWO TAILS ON IT. TWO!

Balenciaga FW07, meet Proenza Schouler FW07. I’m sure you two will be very happy together.
