London-based auction house Kerry Taylor’s upcoming Vintage Fashion & Textile Treasures sale features a delightfully disparate array of apparel, accessories, and textiles marked by a saturated color range, and an abundance of ornate floral & fauna in myriad applications and materials. Everything from late 19th to early 20th century floral-embroidered Chinese shawls to foliage-patterned Paul Iribé cut velvet (1910), floral chiffon dresses of the 1930s and fine pieces in solid hues by the likes of upcoming Met Costume Institute exhibition subject Charles James feature in next Tuesday’s auction, sure to draw both serious collectors and fans of 20th century fashion alike.
