New York: Having proven her naysayers wrong via developing multiple seasons of her successful collection, Victoria Beckham continues to solidify her brand’s aesthetic through thoughtfully designed deliveries that exemplify a pursuit of just the sort of flawless glamour with which she is associated. It is a glamour that exists in a world free of trousers, slacks and (the ubiquitous) legging as evidenced by the fact that Beckham completely eschewed this category in favor of evolving interpretations of dresses, skirts, tops, and outerwear. This season, saw the exploration of a toughened-up, military-influenced spin on Beckham’s signature whittled tailoring. A smoky neutral palette wandered from sage, to walnut with the occasional jolt of cerulian or burnt sienna for punctuation. A python-trimmed motorcycle boot signaled that Beckham was ready to voyage outside of her cocktail and evening driven comfort zone into the sort of versatile sportswear that will continue to grow her business. –Kibwe Chase-Marshall
