Milan: Christopher Kane is on a roll at Versus, Versace’s little sister label. Riding the momentum that his well-recieved spring collection generated, Kane upped the sophistication level for fall. Well-placed boning was added to tailored garments; the sheer, corseted insets used for coats, suits and sheath dresses were consistent with the body-con aesthetic of the label while reflecting Kane’s innovative spirit. Geometric triangle motifs in black and silver took some focus off all the structure and gave the collection an Art Deco feel. While the predominantly charcoal palette was more sedate than last season’s rainbow brights, jewel-toned accent hues and metallic finishes contributed youthful energy.
