Versace Couture

Paris:  The models onstage resembled a futuristic sculpture garden, and backstage Donatella Versace called them her “warrior women.” Strict hourglass gowns featured exaggerated curves created by structured peplums and sharp padded shoulders. Materials were a mix of femme and tough —  shimmering beads dissipated toward the hem to reveal delicate lace, gold metal panels curved against the body, and supple leather featured trapunto stitching and quilting. Although a tight collection of 15 looks, Versace offered a handful of options; lengths ranged from floor-grazing to mid-thigh, with a couple of short-shorts thrown in, and pale blueish grey was a subtle, femme alternative to bold citrus tones.
