Vera Wang’s always intelligent collection delivered easy pieces in luxe fabrics. Focusing more on separates than usual, Wang presented wearable looks with finesse. A languid black silk jumpsuit topped by a navy vest created a long and lean silhouette, seemingly without even touching the body – the anti-body-con. Layers of black and white tulle formed a nebulous shape for the skirt of a party dress, while pleated strips of black and grey silk wrapped around a simple sheath. An asymmetric tiered skirt was paired with a voluminous black jacket over plunging blouse and accessorized with one of Wang’s signature layered crystal necklaces. One of the few instances of color was a lovely but slightly melancholy violet poppy print. Vera Wang’s subtly opulent pieces had both intellectual and romantic appeal.
