New York: Vera Wang knows more than just weddings, a fact driven home by her chic and graceful S/S 13 ready-to-wear collection. Although the crisp white opening looks harkened back to her beloved bridal collection, these nipped-waist jackets and full petticoat skirts were elegant everyday summer pieces inspired by the designer’s recent trip to India. Walking shorts paired with restrained peplum tops and embroidered tunic dresses were casual, while waistcoat vests and wide-leg trousers achieved a nearly Victorian mood. In color, Wang’s presentation shone even brighter via rich cobalt wallpaper prints applied to slim halter dresses and shorts suits, as well as an opulent series of emerald off-the-shoulder duchess satin ensembles.—Nina Stotler
