New York: For Resort, Vera Wang presented chic separates that will resonate with her sophisticated urban fans. The high-low hems that she showed for Fall returned, now used for both tops and dresses. She also revisited the anorak, this time made from lightweight beige twill and often cropped just above the waist. Micro-pleats embellished necklines and were used for a standout bolero jacket, and gathering created elegantly draped skirts and tops. Cropped pants and knee-length shorts featured exaggerated dropped rises, which made them feel at once directional and relaxed. Prints were a surprise element, as Wang typically uses them only sparingly. This season, however, there were eye-catching bubble motifs in bright red and grey, as well as watercolor geometrics that felt ethereal and romantic. —Joanna Manganaro
