New York: Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli once again presented a collection that balanced effortlessness, femininity and desirability. The delicate dresses that have become their calling card this time appeared in white lace with 3-D flower appliqués, crisp tulle with dimensional detailing and faded floral printed organza. Tailored jumpsuits featured plunging V-necks and criss-cross backs, which gave them an alluring retro feel. Bows were a nod to the house’s heritage and were placed on sexy sheaths and clutches made from exotic skins. Fine materials – buttery leather, luxe fur, fragile lace – made the relatively simple looks into objects of desire. –Joanna Manganaro
