Milan: Military, punk and urban references defined Neil Barrett’s collection this season. His precise signature tailoring was combined with layered bomber jackets and military parkas. Knitted fabrics updated Crombie coats and trucker jackets. Large utilitarian pockets were placed at the bottom of parkas and classic tailored coats, adding newness to the British designer’s lineup. Trousers were pleated and cut low. Barrett played with fabrications too – khaki gabardine materials were needle-punched to black wool and exaggerated roll-neck sweaters presented 3-d effects. Elegant tailored jackets were combined with crisp cotton white shirts and knits, highlighting his passion for classic British tailoring. A beautiful and sharp collection that will appeal to men worldwide. – Diego Sanchez
