We have been talking (and writing!) about the urban gardening trend for a few years now. This trend is related to objects, tools and ingenious gadgets that allow people to have a garden even in the smallest of the spaces (take a look at the images in the bottom of this blogpost – canned plants!). But it’s not only about lack of space, it’s also about caring for the plants.

I visited Ambiente, in Frankfurt (Germany) last week, a trade fair dedicated to homewares, comprising every type of accessory you can fit within the home, from pillow cases to lamps and photo frames (yes, photo frames, remember them?). Already in the first hall (there are 12 of them) I noticed a few exhibitors showcasing products like self-watering systems and vases with embedded lighting, and I continued to find similar items up until the very last hall.

It’s great that urban gardening is now more accessible and becoming more and more popular. No excuses to not grow your own anymore!
