Last night in New York, Nylon Guys
managed to get a bunch of downtowners to come all the way up to 59th and Lex – if not exactly uptown then certainly the northern edge of midtown and quite a few blocks above 14th Street. Bloomie’s was launching a new basement-level denim shop and there was free sushi and an open bar – but the lure was mainly a live set from The Virgins
. Speaking of downtown, after The Virgins ended their set with “Rich Girl” (their best song and one of my tracks of the moment), we took off and headed waayy downtown to 7 World Trade Center for the Smart
car party. (Who knew that the tiny and eco-friendly vehicles which you commonly see in cities like London had recently been made available for purchase in the US?) Now that we were way down(town), we went way up – up to the top floor of 7 World Trade which had been converted into an art gallery-cum-parking garage courtesy of cool architecture firm LOT-EK. The supposedly eco-friendly design seemed to include lots and lots of plastic wrap, but we were too distracted by the stunning wrap-around views of the city to really ponder this for long. I brought my camera along for all of this as usual…xoxo eddie
