United Bamboo

New York: Miho Aoki and Thuy Pham of United Bamboo presented one of their most grown-up and fully realized collections to date. Tailored pantsuits and A-line dresses looked smart, though proportions – shrunken for the suits and roomy for the dresses – captured the duo’s quirky aesthetic in a subtle way. Outerwear was a highlight, with pieced shearlings and plaid brushed wools as key fabrics, and a trio of oversized cable knit sweaters closed the show. Representatives from a slew of hip retailers sat front row (Sarah from Colette and Bird’s Jen Mankins among them), and one can expect the wearable yet still unique pieces to be easy sells for fall.
