H&M and many other chains may make a point of changing their designer partners for every collaboration but Uniqlo knows a good thing when it sees one and is working with JW Anderson again after an earlier successful debut collaboration.
The combination of the chain that specialises in low-priced, functional pieces and basics with the influencer label clearly made an impact last time, as did the mix of British heritage inspiration and typical quirky JWA touches.
Hence, Uniqlo plans to launch a 2018 spring/summer collection “following the positive response worldwide for its 2017 fall/winter line”.
The new collection will include items for men and women, available though its stores worldwide and online.
Anderson said: “The first… collaboration was super exciting for me and I am very happy with the results. I am proud of it and I think the pieces are incredibly well made.
”The line was also good bridge between the ideal of British classicism and my own brand.”
He added: “The 2018 spring/summer collection is about items that interlink with each other. It’s about layering this time. The idea is to mix and match things together.”
