Since the beginning of UNIONMADE there isn’t much that Todd Barket has done with his coveted shop and brand that we haven’t admired, loved and lusted after. It has become pretty clear from watching his work and UNIONMADE evolve over the last few years that Barket is a master merchant with an eye for incredible design and visuals.
This series of images, shot by photographer Andrew Paynter and Boon Design, highlights garments from the retailer’s various partners including Raleigh Denim, Golden Bear, Gitman Bros., The Hill-Side, Small Trade Company and Farm Tactics. Set against Japanese ‘Boro’ quilts, the shots showcase the indigo color and dye while presenting the products in an appetizing way. In the lookbook, the brand says “Indigo dyed goods are believed to carry a strength rooted in hard work and brings life to the cloth it saturates with a rich and vibrant blue.” This sort of project really suits these guys as they built the foundations of their store on the principles of well-built products that last the time test of time.
Lookbooks, as well as each piece from the capsule, are available in San Francisco and Santa Monica, as well as online. To view more head to the official site, where you can take a look behind the scenes 35mm style.
