New York…Band of Outsiders
Designer Scott Sternberg is quickly expanding the brand’s roster of preppy classics, updated for today’s young man. Tailored pieces are at the core: trousers, shorts and blazers. And the slim, cropped button downs, paired with narrow ties or bow ties practically define the contemporary men’s designer genre. Madras and a smattering of checked pieces break up the palette of solid blue, brown, beige, red, and grey. With 46 looks for the season, Band aspires to remain true to the mix and match-ability of ready-to-wear. Styling details include shoes by Sperry Top-Sider, sunglasses and a pant length that breaks just a tad. Inspiration came from TV Party, a public-access show from the late ’70s/early ’80s. “They all looked so good all the time,” Sternberg said at his presentation. “Undone, but buttoned-up.”
