London: There has been much debate regarding the place of commercial collections such as Twenty8Twelve on the international runways. Should the work of the Miller sisters, concerned more with fun and saleability than the art of fashion, be relegated to the showroom? Their place on the S/S 11 calendar in London guarantees Twenty8Twelve a look from editors and buyers alike, who were treated to a gathering of mostly American references this season. The kicky, a-line silhouette seen from many designers in New York last week, were also popular here, as were crafty, openwork knits and tiny, demure collars. Sun baked colors, light denim and chambray were also on-trend touches, demonstrating the Miller sisters’ market savvy.
