Michael Kors‘ collection was as beachy as it comes, with a soft relaxed attitude in essential pieces that will compliment every woman’s idea of her wardrobe for an island getaway. A palette of sun-bleached colour – tints of wisteria, rosewater and cornflower blue were worked beautifully into the subtle prints of palm tree fronds and tie-dye, perfect partners to the shades of sand pearl, smoke, navy, black and white that punctuated throughout the presentation.
The items themselves were just as light and breezy – an asymmetrically cut silk dress, an oversized jacket with a navy overlay, nonchalantly worn over striped trousers or the ease of sarongs, and kimonos – perfect foils for the oversized menswear tailoring of jackets, trenches, shorts and trousers.
The shoes came in versions of softly knotted sandals and the flip flops were not just any ordinary flat, these were ultra luxe croc renditions. And the evening glamour, soft layered chiffon, linen gauze and georgette scarf skirts and dresses were light enough to catch the faintest breeze on a summer night. – Lizzy Bowring
