2017 builds on the patch and pin craze of seasons past as we start seeing artistic elements done by brands and artist collaborations. Gucci recently partnered with former pro skateboarder and street artist Trouble Andrew aka GUCCIGHOST® to create a collection of accessories, apparel, and footwear with his unique graffiti. These types of unexpected pairings are bringing new demographics of consumers to the label, giving it a much wider reach. **(Make sure to check out Jeffree Star obsessing about one of the amazing GUCCIGHOST® bags at 6:29 in her video)

Current large-scale commercial brands like Nike are jumping right into this too with in-store activations featuring artists. Nike collaborated with artists Jon Contino, Daniel Zender and Grace Miceli for a revolving showcase at their SoHo store.
