Autumn/Winter 2017 heralds a time for change, particularly with the political environment that surrounds us globally. We will see innovative parameters in fashion approached with a new way of thinking. Intelligent and smart attitudes towards everyday dressing become ever more important, along with the continued idea of individuality. Individuality will still remain as an underlying message because the contemporary consumer dresses to suit his/her own needs and personalities. The upcoming collections will offer a new step forward from designers, a welcome reality check if you will.
Or As Miuccia Prada recently said regarding her Fall Menswear collection: “the desire for reality, humanity, and simpleness.”
Here’s a teaser of what you need to know:
Colour will be important with an intensity inspired by nature from gorgeous deep autumnal inspired hues, forest greens, rich navy, winter wines and nocturne black. Luminous brights will bring a happy outlook to collections.
Print spans romantic dark ground florals, masculine stripes, 70s geometrics, graphics and colour blocking.
Materials soft flannels, utility cottons along with sheers and silky satins will be key to collections. Denim will remain important for updated outerwear.
