Platforms and flatforms are huge in the world of women’s footwear, but it seems that the men might finally be catching on. For Spring 2013, traditional menswear uppers are amped up with platform outsoles that range in height from subtle to sky-high.
Platform oxfords, huaraches and gored slip-ons are adaptations of menswear classics, while a peep toe clog is a more avant garde option. Creamy neutrals and dark blues were favored on the spring runways, allowing this bold silhouette to take center stage. Contrast soles and welt details further emphasize the new shape. Expect these eye-catching shoes to be a hot topic next spring, because they definitely make a statement!
