Paris: The design season kicks into high gear this weekend with the first major trade shows of the year. In its 25-plus years, Interfilière has become THE materials trade show for intimate apparel and a growing source for swimwear. This season, the show boasts approximately 145 exhibitors presenting their S/S 13 collections. Running concurrently with the finished products trade show Salon International de la Lingerie from January 21-23, both fairs will be housed in the prime, spacious confines of Pavilion 1 at Porte de Versailles. As usual, the fair is organized into the following five sections:
Lace It – lace
Brod’Cust – embroidery
Acces’Follies – closures, trims, elastics, buttons, bra cups, braids, beads, ribbons, etc
Neoskin – knits, wovens, prints, embellishments
Hi’Tech – fibers, yarns, machines
New to this edition is Focus Loungerie, a special section devoted to the emerging category.
Here are some key vendors to look out for:
Bischoff / Broderies Deschamps / Darquer / Forster Rohner / Willy Hermann / Kewelram / Liebaert / Miroglio / Noyon / Pizval / Riedel / Solstiss
Pay particular attention to color this season, the essential design driver for S/S 13. Industry experts have divided the expansive range into three key palettes this season:
Delicious – summer-fresh, energetic, romantic
Fade in Time – aged neutrals, natural fibers, humble crafts
Intense – brights on brights, graphic, Modern Art
We’ll be blogging all week from the trade shows, so check back often.
See you in Paris!
