Toronto’s Design Exchange has unveiled the much-anticipated exhibition, This Is Not A Toy, in collaboration with Pharrell Williams. This is the world’s first exhibition dedicated to urban vinyl as contemporary art. The exhibition explores the conceptual toy as both a cultural symbol and a design object in a whimsical space brimming with trinkets to colossal freestanding sculptures. Showcased here are contemporary sculptures, figurines and artworks from artists such as Takashi Murakami, KAWS, Huck Gee, FriendsWithYou and Coarse. This playful wonderland is on view through May 19th. –Sarah Ryan Hecht
