1. BARCELONA: PIKNIC ELECTRONIK (every Sunday until the end of September)
Montjuïc Mountain

Much more than a picnic, this weekly open-air event brings family and friends together in gorgeously green Montjuïc to kick back to the best electro.

2. BERLIN: BERLIN DESIGN MARKET (August 23, 2015)

After a successful inaugural event, the second round of Berlin Design Market brings yet another amazing line-up of design, street food and sounds this summer.

3. HONG KONG: MAISON KITSUNE

Music/fashion label Maison Kitsuné has opened a permanent shop in the most pricy strip of land in Causeway Bay following its successful pop-up. The shop stocks its full collections for men and women, alongside fashionable accessories, eyewear, candles and the label’s own music records.

4. LONDON: SOUTH WEST FOUR (August 29-30)

Why attend? A superstar DJ list including Fatboy Slim and Faithless. Need we say more?

5. LOS ANGELES: FYF FESTIVAL (August 22-23)
1465 North Spring Street

Each summer, music-loving Angelenos from all over the city make a pilgrimage to these two days of musical bliss in the California sun. This year’s headliners include Jesus & Mary Chain, Bloc Party, FKA Twigs and Morrissey.

6. NEW YORK: TAKE AN OBJECT ( August 22, 2015 – February 28, 2016)

The period from mid-1950s to the 1970s saw a generation of artists devoted to deploying everyday objects and other non-fine art materials to make their work. This exhibition presents a selection of works from the museum’s collection that all “take an object”.

7. PARIS: TIANZHUO CHEN SOLO EXHIBITION (until September 13)

Visual and multi-media artist Tianzhuo Chen’s solo exhibition in Paris. The Chinese artist uses grotesque forms, psychedelic colours and kitsch imagery to convey globalised youth culture. He is also the inspiration behind designer SANKUANZ’s successful collection at LDFW.

8. SAO PAULO: GUEST URBAN FRUTTARE

Guest Urban Fruttare is a boutique hotel providing guests the chance to live, in full, as one community – a concept increasingly important in travel but not always possible. Guests can hang out in a gallery, artsy square or standard kitchen. The idea is to make you feel at home and have the experience of living like a true Paulistano.

9. SHANGHAI: 1921 GUCCI RESTAURANT

The latest fashion house to jump into the food experience business is Gucci. The brand has thrown open the doors of 1921 Gucci Cafe, the world’s first Gucci restaurant in Shanghai. Located on the fourth floor of the IAPM luxury shopping mall, the restaurant offers a wide range of options to satiate gastronomical cravings in true, extremely yummy Italian style.

10. TOKYO: SUMMER SONIC TOKYO (August 15 -16)
Makuhari Messe, Nakase, Mihama-ku, Chiba-city

A two-day music festival by the sea just outside Tokyo features Pharrell Williams and The Chemical Brothers topping a highly eclectic lineup ranging from the down and dirty rockabilly of the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, to Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s Harajuku kawaii techno-pop.
