Tokyo Denim Trip: Nigo’s Human Made Flagship

The Denim team are currently running around Tokyo on a research trip, checking out all the latest denim developments in this vast metropolis. On Saturday we went to see Nigo’s new flagship store of his Human Made label. Nigo founded A Bathing Ape in 1993 and is also co-owner and head designer of Pharrell Williams’ clothes brands Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream. He continues to make his mark in both fashion and retail with the Human Made label- a fusion of workwear references with a casual, streetwear slant.

Entitled Cold Coffee, the store is located in a quiet street in Shibuya, and perfectly transports the vintage and heritage message of the brand with a juke box and vintage furniture decorating the small corner-shop space. Both the collection and store have a 50’s collegiate vibe that juxtaposes well with the clean, deadstock worker styling. We loved it! Stay tuned for more Tokyo updates…
