New York: Timo Weiland’s creative schoolgirl came wrapped in rich materials for F/W 13, from slick leathers patchworked with velvet to felted wool stadium coats lined in shearling. But these grown-up raw materials were treated with a thoroughly youthful hand, as the designer smartly paired fit-and-flare dresses and pleated a-line miniskirts with slouchy sweatshirt tops or layered sheer blouses over lace-trimmed camisoles. Even Weiland’s heavier jacquards and tapestry fabrics looked spunky and wearable as snap-front jackets or asymmetric cocktail frocks, while off-kilter accessories like baseball caps and thigh-high suede spats heightened the charm of this appealingly artistic collection.—Nina Stotler
