THE ART OF DRESSING
New York: Designers Timo Weiland and Alan Eckstein continue their exploration of interesting yet wearable ways to do layering. For F/W 10, they enveloped themselves in an epic tale of colliding eras; specifically, the Age of Innocence meets Gangs of New York. The dichotomy of the masculine and the feminine inspired the clothes, resulting in a super-modern approach to dandyism. Volume and proportion were paramount, and key pieces included an elongated cardi-coat (an emerging item this season), a melange blazer and a camelhair polo coat. The mixing of print and pattern, as well as active-influenced layers on the bottom, kept the collection feeling fresh and youthful.
